Going the Distance
Sponsored by Nicole Langdale in memory of her dog Kuma. Presented by Nicole Landale. This award celebrates the special bond between dog and handler. It is awarded to the handler who goes the distance both inside the ring and out to make sure their dog is happy and having fun. This award is in honour of my first agility dog, Kuma. She was a wonderful and loving girl who was full of sass and had a stubborn streak a mile long. It was a true gift to begin my agility journey with Kuma and I will forever be grateful for everything she has taught me. |

We Got This!
Sponsored and presented by Pat Burroughs in memory of her Shetland Sheepdog Jovi. This award is in memory of Jovi who loved going to the start line and would look at me with the look in his eyes that was We Got This. He loved agility and may not have been the fastest dog out there but he always gave it his full 100%. He was the highest titled agility dog in the Burroughs household. His other beloved sport was Scent Detection. He would have the same look and earned the nickname Speed Nose. |

The Reckless Award for High Scoring Double Drop Veteran
Sponsored by Backyard Agility Dogs in memory of Reckless, their Shetland Sheepdog. Presented by Laurie Keith and Pierre Lalonde. The Top Double Drop Vet Award is in honour of a very special Sheltie named Reckless (Nicha’s Reckless Behaviour February 24, 2006-July 29, 2021) whom I was blessed to be able to play agility with well into his senior years. He was a one-of-a-kind boy; always happy and finding joy in everything, especially running in the ring. Reckless had many achievements during his life: ATChC, MTRDC, MSCDC, Versatility Bronze Award, Excellent Standard Bronze, Excellent Snooker Bronze, Excellent Jumpers Bronze, Excellent Team Relay Bronze, Excellent Steeplechase Bronze, Excellent Jumpers Silver and Excellent Snooker Silver. Reckless even made the AAC Nationals podium at 12 years of age! The Reckless Award recognizes the High Scoring Double Drop Veteran of the 2024 Regionals, appreciating the privilege it is to play in the ring with our dogs for as long as we can! |

High Scoring Rescue Dog
Sponsored by Maureen and Jerry Boese in honour of all their rescue dogs. Presented by Maureen Boese. We started our agility journey with our first dog Kodi back in 2007, and we met our second dog Rocky through agility. They both played until they were almost 13 years old and still loved to play the game. We were content with 2 dogs but then Sugar Rae came into our lives when she was around 4 months old. We found her all by herself on our way to agility class and as fate would have it no one claimed her. Now almost 10 years later she is the best agility partner that I wasn’t looking for. Now we also have new agility partners in Diesel and Whiskey. They are both a work in progress but both love the game. Kodi, Diesel and Whiskey are from New Hope Dog Rescue. Rocky came from the SPCA and of course Sugar Rae was the best found dog you could find. They all proved that even dogs that aren’t wanted for one reason or another are all worth their weight in gold. We love that we can sponsor the Top Rescue Dog at Regionals every chance we get. Photo from top left: Diesel, Rocky, Sugar Rae, Whiskey and Kodi. |

High Scoring Shetland Sheepdog
Sponsored by Dona Gould in memory of Desiree, her Shetland Sheepdog. Presented by Dona Gould. Desiree came at a time of change in my life, my reason to live through difficult times and back into the wonderful world of agility to become my first ATChC dog. Desiree was so easy to handle, so confident that she leapt over the A-frame apex and consistently raced me to the finish line. All the best to the High Scoring Shetland Sheepdog! |
